This handbook is designed to provide you with important information about our school's policies, procedures, and programs. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the contents of this handbook and use it as a resource throughout the school year.

Note: We will be taking inputs and feedback from parent representatives during Nurture Parent Club meetings to make changes to the format and content of this handbook, within the purview of the current school policies. Therefore, you may notice regular additions and changes throughout the academic year. If there are any other changes to school policies that may impact the information in this handbook, we will communicate them to parents as and when the policy decisions are taken.

About Us

Our Philosophy

“Life is Learning”

Our Vision

Cosmos Primary empowers students in a happy, safe, and stimulating environment to help them achieve their true potential in all their endeavours and foster a lifelong love of learning.

Our Mission

Cosmos Primary aims to create a well-structured student-centred learning environment with collaborative efforts by the management, teachers, parents and the students themselves.

The following are principles set for the school community to guide its efforts to create a positive and thriving school culture.

Learner Centred Education

Educators will be expected to use evidence-based pedagogical practices to collaborate with students in a way that will allow for student choice, self-discipline and autonomy, giving them some control and letting them decide how and what they learn. The student will be a central part of the learning process, while the teacher will play multiple roles as a guide, mentor, counsellor and facilitator.

Increased Teachers’ Professional Capacity and Leadership

To inspire excellence in educational practices and encourage active participation and informed decision-making by all the teachers in the school, they will be supported with access to resources, information and expertise for self-directed professional development and encouraged to assume roles of leadership, within and beyond the school community.

Strong School Leadership

To establish a democratic learning community, the school leadership, including the administrators and head teachers, will aim to inculcate a culture of shared goals and collective efforts in a manner that will foster a belief that leading is not restricted to formal positions but is distributed to the entire school community, including teachers, students and parents, each contributing with their diverse perspectives.

Strong Ethical and Trusting Relationships

The entire school community, management, educators, students and parents, will be encouraged to foster relationships amongst each other to nurture an environment of transparency, cooperation and trust –

relationships between management and educators to allow teachers to feel confident and secure in providing honest input and meaningful participation in the school's decision-making and its progress;

relationships between educators and students to have a long-lasting positive impact on students’ academic motivation as well as their social and emotional development;

relationships between management, teachers and parents to work together in cooperation, with a common sense of responsibility towards student achievement and school improvement.

Our Values

At Cosmos Primary, we strive to nurture an ethos characterized by a culture of integrity, openness, trust, respect, inquiry, dialogue and appreciation in which all the members of the school community- administrators, teachers, students and parents- will understand and believe that “Life is Learning”

Integrity: build ethical character and moral behaviour and be honest, truthful and compassionate.

Openness: be imaginative and intellectually creative and open to new ideas

Trust: be transparent to foster collaboration for everyone to flourish

Respect: consider everyone equal and treat them with dignity

Inquiry: engage in active learning, seeking answers through research and discovery

Dialogue: have open conversations that build on knowledge, learning and effective communication.

Appreciation: recognize and acknowledge individual contributions and promote gratitude, self-esteem and positive relationships
